Sanctuaries, miracles and ex-voto
A miraculous vision that occurred more than 40 years ago a few kilometers from Brindisi allowed the construction of the sanctuary of Santa Maria di Jaddico. Since then, an endless series of ex-votos bears witness to the saving and miraculous power of the Madonna of Jaddico.
In the place where now stands the temple of Santa Maria di Cotrino, near Latiano, in the seventeenth century. a Lucanian woman found an image of the Madonna. Since then, the sanctuary is a destination for popular devotion.
The sanctuary of San Cosimo alla Macchia, a few kilometers from Oria, is the destination every year of thousands of pilgrims from all over Italy, who come here to ask the Saints Medici for graces and indulgences of all kinds.
